(It's also nice to get the Red Hood Gang introduced right before Death of the Family, imo. I like it as a little "coming soon!" as it was in the original publication order. iirc it takes place between pages of issues, and there's no real way to make it chronologically make sense without majorly splicing up the issues, thus ruining the integrity of each issue as a narrative unit. I tried re-reading Zero Year with #0 in the correct chronological place, only to find that a few little details get confusing and don't exactly match up. The "Fall of the House of Wayne" story is best read in original publication order, in between the main "Court of Owls" chapters, so that's what they did here on the other hand, the Superman team-up back-ups in 19-20 were completely separate from the main story, so they were placed together, which makes sense for that situation.Īgreed, but I am bummed they didn't put #0 between Zero Year parts 1 and 2 where it fits narratively. Mostly publication order with a few stories shifted to either combine multi-part back-ups or separate them to maintain certain reveals. The stories are all listed in order, but the "primary" parts of the long-form stories (Court of Owls, Death of the Family, and Zero Year) are listed expanding out to the left, and all side stories are listed expanding out to the right. Special Order takes 3-4 weeks Continuing Scott Snyders and Greg Capullos prolific. Nov 04, 2019Love the layout of the table of contents. BATMAN BY SCOTT SNYDER & GREG CAPULLO Omnibus Volume 2.
